Preparation time: 20 mins + Time to rise |  Cooking time: 45 mins  |  Serves: 6-8 people

INGREDIENTS:

  • 500 g ready-made flour for homemade bread
  • 300 ml of warm water
  • 100 g of sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 50 g of cinnamon powder
  • Powdered sugar, maple syrup, olive oil to taste

PREPARATION:

For the dough: in a bowl add the flour and warm water. Mix all the ingredients well and beat vigorously until a ball of elastic dough forms. Cover the dough and place it in the fridge. Let it rest for 2 hours until it doubles in size.

Add the sugar, 4 beaten eggs and the cinnamon powder. Mix everything until you obtain a homogeneous dough. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rest for around 60 minutes or until it doubles in size.

Preheat the oven to 180ºC.

Line a baking tray with parchment paper or spread with butter and sprinkle with flour.

Once proofed, place the dough on a work surface sprinkled with a pinch of flour to prevent it from sticking.

Mold the folar into a slightly flattened ball. Reserve a small portion of the dough and make ribbons.

Place the folar in the mold, add the boiled eggs (in water and onion skins, to dye the eggs) in the middle of the dough.

Place the strings around the eggs, pressing gently to seal.

Cover and let it rise for about 30 minutes.

Brush with a beaten egg and a drizzle of olive oil.

Bake at 180ºC for around 45 minutes, until golden on the outside and cooked on the inside (use a toothpick to check).

Leave to cool and unmold. Brush the dough with maple syrup and if you want, you can add powdered sugar.
