Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180ºC.

  2. Butter a 22cm (9in) round pan and sprinkle with flour.

  3. In a bowl beat the egg whites, add two tablespoons of sugar and beat more. Separately, beat the yolks together with the remaining sugar.

  4. Melt the chocolate together with the butter, add to the egg yolk preparation and beat a little more. Mix the flour with the almonds, mix in this preparation, alternating with the beaten egg whites, and pour into the mold.

  5. Cut some figs in half and arrange them around the mold and on the dough.

  6. Bake at 180ºC for 40 minutes

  7. At the end of the cooking time, remove from heat and allow to cool. Decorate with moon-cut figs. Drizzle with honey and serve.
